Vermeer has announced a new campaignand video contest to promote horizontaldirectional drilling and the skilled professionalswho contribute to the industry.Navigator Nation was created to show thepassion and expertise drill operators havefor their profession and elevate awarenessfor the new generation of HDD operators.
“I can tell you this will be an industryfirst,” said Jason Zylstra, Marketing Managerfor Vermeer. “We understand howdifficult day-to-day life can be on the jobsiteand the pride operators have in theirwork. This is our opportunity to salutethese individuals and say thank you fortheir dedication.”
To kick off the campaign, Vermeer haslaunched a new website, NavigatorNation.com. This site is an interactive communityfor all HDD professionals and will featurevideo and image libraries showcasing HDDoperators on jobsites discussing their backgrounds,what made them become operatorsand the challenges they face at eachjobsite. New videos — both user-generatedand Vermeer-generated — will be uploadedregularly, along with photos from around the world.
NavigatorNation.com will serve asthe vehicle to find the Ultimate Operatorwith a video contest that began onJan. 3, 2013. Contractors will be encouragedto profile their outstandingcrew on video and upload to NavigatorNation.com. Site visitors can vote ontheir favorite operator profiles, and theoperator who receives the most votesthroughout the course of the year willbe crowned the Ultimate Operator atthe International Construction andUtility Equipment Exposition (ICUEE)in October.
