More than 20 NUCA of Colorado members, including family members, volunteered to do light repairs and heavy cleaning at the 45-room Ronald McDonald House in Aurora, Colo., on Nov. 9. Ronald McDonald House Charities provide a “home-away-from-home” for families so they can stay close by their hospitalized children at little or no cost.
For the fourth year, NUCA of Ohio sponsored a Battle of Ohio event, featuring the state’s north-south football rivalry between the Cleveland Browns and the Cincinnati Bengals. Fifty participants from all over the state had a great time, even though the Browns (Utility Contractor’s hometown team) lost to the Bengals 20-41.
Derrick Pursley, an HDD drill operator and Texas native, was crowned Vermeer’s Ultimate Operator during the opening day of ICUEE in Louisville, Ky. Pursley’s recognition as the Ultimate Operator is the culmination of the yearlong Navigator Nation campaign from Vermeer that celebrates and honors HDD operators.
Last month, NUCA members flocked to Fajardo, Puerto Rico, for the association’s Fall Leadership Conference held Oct. 2-5 at the El Conquistador Resort. Attendees experienced three days of meetings, presentations, networking and time to explore the picturesque property. Check out the photos on the next two pages for a recap of the event.
