NUCA of Ohio Celebrates Football Season with the Battle of Ohio

For the fourth year, NUCA of Ohio sponsored a Battle of Ohio event, featuring the state’s north-south football rivalry between the Cleveland Browns and the Cincinnati Bengals. Fifty participants from all over the state had a great time, even though the Browns (Utility Contractor’s hometown team) lost to the Bengals 20-41.

The original Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) was passed in 1994 and remained unchanged for almost two decades. During that 20-year period, the Hazard Communication Standard was listed year-after-year as one of the Top 10 most frequently cited OSHA standards.

Back in 1973, a group of utility contractors concerned about the lack of unity in the underground utility construction industry in Rhode Island came together to discuss their options. The Utility Contractors Association of Rhode Island was born, and the group was officially named the state chapter of NUCA the following year.
